Event Overview

2023 Registration

We are so excited to for the Craft Brew Races Worcester to return on May 6, 2023 for it’s seventh year. Registration is now open!

Registration Policies

Gray Matter Marketing is a small business dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle with charitably focused events that highlight the communities we are fortunate to call host cities.

We are not able to offer refunds. However, we do offer any registered runners the opportunity to request a race credit for your full value. Once issued, these Eventbrite Credits appear as a balance of your Eventbrite account. The credit balance can then be applied to the purchase price of a new ticket to any event on our calendar within two years of the day we issue the credit.

Please email [email protected] with your full name, the email you used to register for the event, and the event name and date — and we will issue an event credit for the value of your entry. Event credits must be requested no later than 30 days prior to the event you are currently registered for.

Festival Entry

All 5k participants and festival-goers receive a pint glass and entry to the festival — including beer sampling, live music, vendors and food trucks selling onsite. All Designated Drivers ticket holders receive a different bracelet at registration. They are welcome to enjoy the festival and designated snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.

Medal. Glass. Koozie

All attendees will receive a crushed can finisher’s medal and branded pint glass. Our pint glasses (pictured) were ordered in the winter of 2020 and due to the pandemic were never given out. While they are dated with “2020”, we will be giving all attendees a 2022 koozie in addition to the pint glass at this year’s events.

Event Details

Onsite Registration and Bib Pick-Up

All runners must check in prior to the run at registration from 10:00 – 11:45 AM to receive their race number, timing chip and 21+ bracelet. Registration will be held at the Worcester Common on Front St. (map).

Please note that Designated Driver and Festival Only ticket holders check in at the festival gate at 12:30.

Parking

There is NO PARKING available immediately at the Common, however there are a number of downtown garages available on race day for race participants at their standard rates (Parkopedia map). These garages include the Commercial St. Garage, Worcester Public Library, Federal Plaza Municipal Garage, and the Worcester Plaza Garage.

Please arrive early and allow yourself ample time on race morning to park and check in at registration.

What to Bring

ALL ticket holders need to bring an ID in order to receive their 21+ bracelet when they pick up their race bib prior to the race. The bracelet must be worn during the race and presented for entry into the Festival. Festival Only and Designated Driver participants must present their ID and their Eventbrite ticket at the gate of the Brew Festival at 12:30 PM, following the race for access to the festival.

Food vendors will be onsite selling, so cash is also recommended.

5k Course

The Worcester Craft Brew Race course is 3.1 mile run (or walk!) that starts at City Hall, heads down Chandler St., turns North on Park Ave. past Elm Park, before ultimately heading back down Pleasant St. with a finish at the Worcester Common on Front St.

Enjoy Responsibly

The Craft Brew Races urge all attendees to enjoy their time responsibly. We recommend participants designate a sober driver or arrange transportation. We are happy to offer designated driver tickets whereupon they can enjoy the festivals’ great atmosphere, food and live music and offer you a safe ride home.

Extreme Weather Policy

Our events are held rain or shine. However, there is always the potential for extreme or severe weather conditions. Race organizers will do as much as we can to ensure the experience is as safe as possible. In the event of severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers. If there is more than a short delay, if conditions persist, or the forecast calls for extreme weather, race officials reserve the right to alter or cancel the race. We do not schedule “rain dates”. Any decision to cancel an event is done as an absolute last resort and is made collectively with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate. In such situations, there will be NO REFUNDS as registrants accept any such risk of their entry free when signing up.

Please check the website, our Facebook page, and your email before the race for any changes or cancellations.

Volunteer Opportunities

Sign up to be a volunteer at any Brew Race venue to help with race registration and/or course marshalling and as soon as the run is complete join your running buddies at the festival! All volunteers get a T-shirt AND entry to the Brew Fest. Space is limited! Email us for more information at [email protected].
