Beat the Heat – Stay Hydrated and Slow Down
The forecast is for a very warm, very sunny day, and the race kicks off at noon. We are adding a second water stop to the 5K course, as well as bringing additional water for runners and festival-goers. We do not anticipate needing to do so, but the Craft Brew Races team reserves the right to shorten the road race course if necessary for safety concerns in the extreme heat.
EMS will be on-site throughout the entire day. Please stay hydrated, slow down when needed, and seek out shade!
Extreme Weather Policy
Our events are held rain or shine. However, there is always the potential for extreme or severe weather conditions. Race organizers will do as much as we can to ensure the experience is as safe as possible. In the event of severe weather, the race may be delayed as race officials consult public safety officers. If there is more than a short delay, if conditions persist, or the forecast calls for extreme weather, race officials reserve the right to alter or cancel the race. We do not schedule “rain dates”. Any decision to cancel an event is done as an absolute last resort and is made collectively with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate. In such situations, there will be NO REFUNDS as registrants accept any such risk of their entry free when signing up.
Please check the website, our Facebook page, and your email before the race for any changes or cancellations.
The Craft Brew Races urge all attendees to enjoy their time responsibly. We recommend participants designate a sober driver or arrange transportation. We are happy to offer designated driver tickets whereupon they can enjoy the festivals’ great atmosphere, food and live music and offer you a safe ride home.
The Newport Craft Brew Race course is 3.1 mile showcase of beautiful Fort Adams State Park. The race starts on the West side of the fort, loops around and through the historic stone walls, before heading out towards the Eisenhower House and back along the oceanside Bay Walk loop.
Sign up to be a volunteer at any Brew Race venue to help with race registration and/or course marshalling and as soon as the run is complete join your running buddies at the festival! All volunteers get a T-shirt AND entry to the Brew Fest. Space is limited! Email us for more information at email@example.com.
